Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Saturday, October 7, 2023

Posted on October 7, 2023October 6, 2023 By admin No Comments on Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Saturday, October 7, 2023
It's turning cooler today with winds after some early showers—cold overnight and still cool tomorrow. Night time temps could be down close to the 30s.
A shower is possible on Monday, and then some other showers are possible later in the week. Temps should stay below normal and maybe above normal rain chances!

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Friday, October 6, 2023

 Last day of warmer temps for a while. Shower late and overnight Friday. We may even have some thunder! Breezy weekend with cooler/cold conditions. The longer range now looks to stay cool, and a good chance of some rain storms with the new pattern.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, October 2, 2023

Posted on October 2, 2023October 2, 2023 By admin No Comments on Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, October 2, 2023
Hoping to get these out earlier in the day! This is the weekly outlook. Looks a bit warmer than I first thought the next few days. Overnight fog is common this time of year! It does help that new grass that you may have planted!
I'm still seeing that trend towards more wet conditions Friday Night.. maybe into Saturday. I will keep watching. The front coming through may be slower to clear. We need the rain.. it just messes up outdoor events! Let's hope for a wet night and a dry Saturday!
AN FYI… I saw some concern (and social media anger) because burn season has started, and people have had fires while we remain in a drought. Surface conditions are pretty wet these days. This week, we will have enough humidity around and low winds so that the fire risk will be low to very low (fog is an indicator of surface moisture). Groundwater and stream flow remain low, so we are not out of the drought!
I was amazed by the recovery of the dormant grass last week!  I had to mow, and the grass was quite thick! 🙂 Anyways, when the humidity gets low, and we have a breeze or have not had rain for a longer period of time, that is when the fire danger will increase. It is not just because we are in a drought. So, no need to get angry!
It will be somewhat chilly on Sunday, and especially Sunday night! Sunday night may brush the upper 30s for some!

The Weather is Spectacular – even if we are too dry!
This forecast is straight from the National Weather Service! So simple I can just attach it!
The only slight chance of a shower maybe Sunday overnight, but it seems like it will be dry.
The drought monitor also came out and continues the Severe Drought out west. The eastern parts were moved to abnormally dry.

Have an awesome Thursday!

Weather updates for Sunday, September 10, 2023

Posted on September 10, 2023September 10, 2023 By admin No Comments on Weather updates for Sunday, September 10, 2023
9/10/2023 – Quick update today! More rain is likely, and it has the chance to be locally heavy. Some areas are saturated, which could mean local flooding challenges. Because of this, the region is in the slight risk for flash flooding. Just as it has been, some areas may get a lot more rain that others. Some totals in the region for the last 7 days should be eye-opening! Western Loudoun has still had less than an inch! Southeastern Loudoun has had over 5 inches in parts and I am certain some have seen 6 to 8 inches!

Showers and some storms are possible today. I do not see any being severe as the atmosphere is much cooler and more stable.

After today we have a slight chance of showers and storms tomorrow, a better chance Tuesday, and likely chances Wednesday.

*** BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND ALERT FOR NEXT WEEKEND! ***
We will see if the forecast holds, but sunny skies and 70s for highs seems possible.

* Today – Hi 79 Lo 67 – 60% chance of showers and a storm
* Monday – Hi 83 Lo 65 – 20% chance of a shower or storm
* Tuesday – Hi 84 Lo 67 – 40% chance of showers or a storm (60% at night)
* Wednesday – Hi 77 Lo 55 – 50% chance of showers and storms
* Thursday – Hi 75 Lo 50 – Sunny! (maybe some 40s at night)
* Friday – Hi 76 Lo 51 – Sunny and nice!
* Saturday – Hi 78 Lo 55 – Sunny and nice!

Attached:
* 6 to 10 temps look below normal (but dry!)
* Excessive Rain risk today (Slight)
* Rain totals for the last 7 days
