A touch of Fall Weather is on the way! 

The weekend storms were indeed hit or miss! I ended up with a total of 0.02 inches of rain—basically, a sprinkle! The drought rages on with such little rain. Some had a lot more rain. 

Today, we will see another chance of showers and storms as a front comes through, but the National Weather Service is not excited based on its outlook. Then, several days of nice dry weather with highs in the 70s and lows in the low 50s (maybe even the upper 40s!!) will follow.

Hotter weather returns this weekend. Unfortunately, the long-range shows above-average temperatures and below-normal precipitation! 

The forecast:

Today: Hi 80 ⛈️60% Lo 59 🌧️🌙 – Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the morning, becoming likely in the afternoon. 

Tuesday: Hi 74 ☀️ Lo 52 🌙 – Sunny and BEAUTIFUL! 

Wednesday: Hi 74 ☀️ Lo 53 🌙 – Sunny and BEAUTIFUL! 

Thursday: Hi 79 ☀️ Lo 55 🌙 – Sunny and BEAUTIFUL! 

Friday: Hi 84 ☀️ Lo 59 🌙 – Sunny 

Saturday: Hi 87 ☀️ Lo 62 🌙 – Sunny and hotter.

Sunday: Hi 89 ☀️ Lo 66 🌙 – Sunny and hot.

FALL PREVIEW NEXT WEEK! 

It will be hotter today with some humidity. Unfortunately, the rain we need is coming over the weekend. This will include some severe chances (though marginal risk which is a 1 out 5 on the scale) and maybe some localized heavy rain! 

Come Tuesday we will feel like fall with highs in the 70s and lower humidity! Night lows cold get into the lower 50s! That is Pumpkin Spice and everything nice kind of weather! 🍂🎃

The extended starts below normal with temperatures and trends towards normal, which is no heading to the mid-80s.

Saturday: Hi 86 ⛈️60% Lo 69 🌧️60% – Scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, likely increasing after 2pm with possible thunderstorms.

Sunday: Hi 84 ⛈️90% Lo 66 🌧️80% – Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially after 2pm. 

Monday: Hi 82 ⛅⛈️70% Lo 61 🌧️60% – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly in the afternoon. 

Tuesday: Hi 77 ☀️ Lo 55 🌙 – Super nice and sunny

Wednesday: Hi 78 ☀️ Lo 56 🌙 – Super nice and sunny

Thursday: Hi 80 ☀️ Lo 59 🌙 – Super nice and sunny

 The weather remains beautiful today but is turning hotter with highs in the upper 80s. 

Rain chances return tomorrow night and last through Monday. The weather turns beautiful on Tuesday!

The Drought is better but still ongoing. I've attached the comparison from last week. The left is the new drought monitor, and the right is from a week ago. Each is improved by one severity level. We still need several more inches of rain region-wide to reverse the drought! Basically, we are better but we need more rain! 

The long range is now influenced by the track of Ernesto, the strong hurricane well off the east coast. The interaction of the hurricane and a trough will bring another round of below-normal temperatures to the area in the extended with some warming later. We continue with an above-normal chance of rain as well!

The weather is just beautiful today! The high will be in the low 80s, and we continue with lower humidity! This is the sweetness of summer weather. 

Rain chances return Friday through Monday, but this will not be a washout. 

The extended now does show the temperatures staying near normal which has come down to the mid-80s as we get later into August! It also shows a continued chance for above average rainfall. This is a great way to end Summer. I have a strong feeling as we start September, we could see some heat return for a bit.

We do need the rain to continue weekly so we can keep the drought in check! It appears we could get some rain, so that is good!
