1/3/2026 Warmer weather is coming! Cooler air could return around the 10th!

🌥️ Chilly Start to the New Year
Clouds stick around today with a chance for some light snow showers or flurries this evening, mainly before 8 PM. Not expecting much accumulation, but something to watch.

🌤️ Clearing Out Tonight
Skies clear overnight with temps staying cold. Tomorrow looks brighter with highs in the 30s.

🌡️ Warming Trend Begins
By Monday, we're around 40, then climbing close to 50 by Tuesday. The real warm-up hits midweek with highs near 60 Wednesday, mid-50s Thursday, and low 60s Friday. We may flirt with 70 next weekend!

🌧️ Slight Rain Chances Late Week
A few showers are possible on Thursday and Friday, but nothing too significant for now. We could use the moisture though, as drought conditions remain.

Enjoy the mild stretch ahead. A pattern shift may bring colder air back around the 10th or 11th.

1/1/2026 🎉 Happy New Year and a Cold Start to 2026!

❄️ Surprise Snow Squall Early This Morning
A quick-hitting snow burst around 5 am made roads slick and dangerous. Apologies for missing the heads-up as the models had it, but I didn’t share this!

🌬️ Brutal Cold Today
Temps are stuck below freezing with wind gusts up to 40 mph making it feel much colder today, even in the single digits at times!

🌡️ Gradual Warm-Up Ahead
Highs climb back into the 30s by the weekend. Next week looks much warmer with 40s early in the week, climbing to the 50s by mid-week.

📉 Warm January?
While November and December were cold, La Niña patterns often bring a warmer-than-normal trend. A similar historical setup looked like this in 2001 when December was cold, and January ended up warmer than normal. February saw a turnaround, so we will see!

🥶 Cold Days Still Possible
Even in warm patterns, quick cold snaps can still bring snow or a few days of real cold. We are approaching the best time of the year for snow systems, so we will watch what happens.

12/28/2025 – Headlines: Very Windy Monday and much colder Tuesday!

☔ Spotty Showers Today
Light rain on and off with highs in the low to mid 40s. A gloomy finish to the weekend.

🌬️ Big Winds and Big Changes Monday
Mild in the morning near 60°F, then a powerful cold front sweeps in during the afternoon. Temps drop sharply and winds crank up. Gusts could hit 40 to 50 mph in lower elevations and 55+ mph in the mountains. High Wind Watches are up and Wind Advisories may be issued.

❄️ Cold and Blustery Tuesday
Winter blasts in. Highs near freezing with strong winds making it feel even colder.

🎆 Clear and Chilly New Year’s Eve (Wednesday)
Dry and seasonable with highs in the low 40s. Should be great weather for ringing in 2026.

🌨️ Watching for a Snow Shower New Year’s Day
A few snow showers are possible Thursday with highs in the upper 30s. Still some uncertainty so stay tuned.

🥶 Cold Holds Through the Weekend
Friday stays cold in the mid 30s and the weekend looks chilly too with highs in the 30s to low 40s.

🎄 Day After Christmas Chill
It’s a cold and gloomy day across the area. Highs only in the low to mid-30s with scattered showers, and yes, a touch of sleet or freezing rain can’t be ruled out. A great day to stay in, check out those new gifts, or finally finish that Stranger Things binge.

🌥️ Quiet but Cloudy Saturday
Rain wraps up early tonight with just a dull, uneventful night ahead. Some clearing by morning. Saturday stays mostly cloudy with highs around 44.

🌧️ Rain Tries to Sneak In Sunday
Clouds thicken up again Saturday night. There’s a slight chance of rain on Sunday, but it might not amount to much.

🌦️ Warm Monday, Then a Cold Snap
Monday brings a solid shot at rain but nothing heavy. Highs jump to near 60 before a front moves in. Tuesday turns colder and breezy with highs in the low to mid-30s.

🎉 New Year's Outlook
New Year’s Eve looks decent with highs in the low 40s. New Year’s Day chills down with highs in the mid-30s. Longer range hints at some wintry chances from the 3rd to the 8th.

🌦️ Showers Clearing Out
A few showers this morning, but they’ll move out quickly. Skies stay partly cloudy and we will be mild with temps in the 50°s.

🌡️ Chilly Tonight with Wintry Mix Tomorrow
Temps dip overnight, and by tomorrow afternoon we could see some sleet and light freezing rain. Morning travel looks fine, but watch for slick spots later. Accumulations should be light.

🌤️ Cool Weekend, Warmer Monday
Highs stay in the 40s this weekend. Monday brings a brief warm-up wth highs in the mid and even upper 50°s before a cold front drops us to the low 30s Tuesday and upper 30s Wednesday.

❄️ Watching for Wintry Weather Early January
We’re keeping an eye on potential winter weather around January 3rd to 5th. Still early, but something to watch.
