8/4/2022 – Heat returning, but the long-range is showing a cool down!!

Posted on August 3, 2022August 3, 2022 By admin No Comments on 8/4/2022 – Heat returning, but the long-range is showing a cool down!!
Hot and humid conditions will be prominent today through Monday with daily chances of showers and storms, especially tomorrow through Tuesday! The best chances of rain will be Friday and Saturday. We will want to watch for potentially heavy rain and maybe some strong storms as well.

The longer-range is looking interesting as we have a return of the cooler temps from the north due to a more favorable pattern. I do not know about you, but my yard is the healthiest it has ever been this late in summer! Mowing has been super regular! We are above normal for rain and that looks like it will continue.

7/20/2022 – HERE COMES THE HEAT!

Posted on July 20, 2022July 20, 2022 By admin No Comments on 7/20/2022 – HERE COMES THE HEAT!
We have been so lucky this year to have just had short periods with the heat, but the ridge that has been baking the middle of the Country is finally flexing its heat muscles and bringing us a true heat wave. This is, without a doubt, the worst kind of weather in the Mid-Atlantic! As the air stagnates, we can also expect some air issues later this week.. and that could mean we get the triple H's ! HAZY, HOT, and HUMID! May as well be a curse word to me! LOL!

When we get this hot, I would always note that afternoon and evening storms are possible. With this much heat, anyone may be strong to severe. Tomorrow, there is a better chance of storms, and some could be severe.
Heat tips
* Do not mess around with heat! If you stop sweating, feel weak, or just feel odd while hot, get in the shade ASAP, let others know, and have someone stay with you while seeking medical attention!

So the obvious needs to be shared!
* Close all your blinds to block incoming heat from the sun
* Do outside stuff late in the day or early in the morning
* Take frequent breaks
* Check on neighbors and make sure they have AC. Especially the elderly!
* Buy some cold drinks for your landscapers, delivery drivers, and anyone working outside to help them!
* Do consider raising the thermostat to a higher temperature! It is likely to run A LOT! Which reminds me – change those AC filters if you have not in a while and make sure your water drip lines are clear, so the AC keeps running!

Weekly Weather Outlook June 6, 2022

Posted on June 6, 2022June 6, 2022 By admin No Comments on Weekly Weather Outlook June 6, 2022
6/6/2022 – Such an awesome weekend! That weather continues today. We will have a chance of some showers and storms later tomorrow. Some showers Wednesday and maybe more rain on Saturday. The longer-range looks like heat may start making itself known and I am watching for some potentially stormy times around June 15th.
Have a great week!

4/12/2022 – Loudoun Weather Outlook

Posted on April 12, 2022April 12, 2022 By admin No Comments on 4/12/2022 – Loudoun Weather Outlook
Much nicer today with any showers and clouds clearing out. Highs in the Mid and upper 70s! Highs tomorrow may reach 80 with a chance of showers and storms. Thursday also has a good chance of showers and storms and some could be strong to severe. Nice weekend coming, though we cool some for Easter Sunday. Rain chances return Monday and a cool week looks to be ahead. We may see another chance of freezing temps next week!
