Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, December 16, 2024

Posted on December 16, 2024December 16, 2024 By admin No Comments on Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, December 16, 2024
12/16/2024 – What a dreary day! The Cold Air Damming that helped make yesterday a snowy day, has left colder air trapped at the surface. Warmer air is above us and that, along with the small snowpack, is causing the foggy conditions and will keep today colder than it first looked. Tomorrow will be much nicer with highs near 60! Some rain is expected late today into the evening.

More rain Wednesday and then we are a bit colder Thursday. Some rain and snow showers will be around Friday with Windy weather ushering in some of the coldest air of the season by Sunday. Highs on Sunday may not break 30 degrees.

Next week, we will slowly get milder, which could mean a chance of rain after we start the week cold.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 43 🌧️30% Lo 43 🌧️90% – Cloudy with patchy drizzle and fog, then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Rain likely at night with patchy fog and gusty south winds.

Tuesday: Hi 59 🌤️ Lo 34 🌙 – Mostly sunny and mild during the day, becoming mostly clear and cooler at night with light winds.

Wednesday: Hi 49 🌧️80% Lo 36 🌧️60% – Rain developing in the afternoon and continuing into the evening, with mostly cloudy skies overnight.

Thursday: Hi 42 🌤️ Lo 27 ☁️ – Mostly sunny during the day, turning mostly cloudy and colder at night.

Friday: Hi 39 🌨️30% Lo 26 ☁️ – A chance of rain and snow in the afternoon under partly sunny skies. Mostly cloudy at night.

Saturday: Hi 35 🌤️ Lo 19 🌙 – Mostly sunny and cold during the day, becoming partly cloudy and very cold overnight.

Sunday: Hi 29 ☀️ Lo 16 – Sunny and frigid throughout the day.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Sunday, December 15, 2024

Posted on December 15, 2024December 15, 2024 By admin No Comments on Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Sunday, December 15, 2024
12/15/2024 – We will see some sleet this morning into early afternoon, but it will likely switch to rain fairly quickly. Some showers are possible today, tonight, and mid-day tomorrow. Tuesday will be very mild, with highs near 60 degrees.

More rain Wednesday and Wednesday night, then turning breezy and colder into the weekend.

Next week remains a mystery. We could warm up some and see showers, or we may see some wintry weather. Models are struggling! We do not do complicated winter patterns well, so I would count on some showers next week and temperatures near or slightly above normal – but that could change! Confidence is low!

The forecast:
Today: Hi 35 🌧️100% Lo 35 🌧️100% – Rain, mixed with sleet, becoming all rain this afternoon. Patchy fog tonight with steady rain.

Monday: Hi 49 🌧️60% Lo 45 🌧️80% – Rain likely in the morning, with a chance of showers by late afternoon. Showers will continue tomorrow night, breezy with gusts up to 22 mph.

Tuesday: Hi 59 ☀️ Lo 35 🌙 – Sunny and clear.

Wednesday: Hi 53 🌦️70% Lo 36 🌧️70% – Rain likely later in the day and into the night.

Thursday: Hi 42 🌤️ Lo 24 🌙 – Mostly sunny and breezy and cooler.

Friday: Hi 37 🌤️ Lo 25 ☁️ – Mostly sunny during the day, becoming mostly cloudy at night.

Saturday: Hi 36 🌥️ Lo 24 🌙 – Partly sunny during the day.

12/13/2024 – Cold but not windy day. Highs will be in the upper 30s. We stay chilly tomorrow with highs around 40. We could see a rain/snow/sleet mix on Sunday before we just get some light showers. Monday through Wednesday look mild, with highs around 50 on Monday and Wednesday and maybe even 60 on Tuesday!

A wet Thursday is possible, and then a cold and windy end of next week.
Details after next Thursday are very scattered. Models hint at possible storminess in our region, but that does not mean our backyards… I will have to watch.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 38 🌤️ Lo 26 ☁️ – Partly sunny during the day, becoming mostly cloudy tonight with calm winds.

Saturday: Hi 36 🌤️ Lo 26 ☁️ – Mostly sunny with calm winds, turning mostly cloudy by night.

Sunday: Hi 38 ❄️🌧️50% Lo 35 🌧️90% – Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow early, transitioning to rain by the evening.

Monday: Hi 49 🌧️70% Lo 45 🌧️70% – Rain likely — NOTE – Models seem to be backing off on this rain. Maybe some showers

Tuesday: Hi 60 🌦️50% Lo 35 🌙 – Mostly sunny and very mild with a chance of morning showers, clearing out later.

Wednesday: Hi 49 🌤️ Lo 37 ☁️🌧️30% – Mostly sunny, becoming mostly cloudy at night with a slight chance of rain.

Thursday: Hi 47 🌧️30% Lo 32 ☁️ – Partly sunny with a chance of rain during the day. Turning windy and colder overnight.

We look kind of mild mid week and then a front and colder weather by the following weekend. Models are pointing to a bit cold Christmas week.. and yes, MAYBE something to watch for precipitation, but nothing is definite or clear!

Saturday: Hi 37 🌤️ Lo 28 ☁️ – Mostly sunny with light southeast winds, turning mostly cloudy overnight.

Sunday: Hi 42 ☁️🌧️50% Lo 36 🌧️80% – Cloudy with rain chances late. This may stary as some brief sleet

Monday: Hi 50 🌧️60% Lo 44 🌧️70% – Rain is possible, but this may come late

Tuesday: Hi 55 🌧️60% Lo 35 🌙 – Partly sunny with rain likely, becoming partly cloudy and cooler at night.

Wednesday: Hi 47 ☀️ Lo 27🌙 – Mostly sunny
