🌦️ Showers to Start the Day
Some showers are around this morning, with additional chances this afternoon and evening. Patchy fog is possible too. Rainfall will be light unless a thunderstorm develops, which is possible today.

🌩️ Wetter Wednesday
Showers become likely Wednesday, especially in the afternoon, with a thunderstorm possible. Watch for a strong or severe storm as the front finally moves through.

☀️ Beautiful End to the Week
Once the front clears, we dry out Thursday through the weekend and into Monday. Sunny skies return, with highs near 80 Thursday before cooling into the low to mid 70s through the weekend. Overnight lows settle into the 50s. Just a really nice stretch ahead!

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, May 25, 2026

🇺🇸 On this Memorial Day, we are thankful for all who served, all who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their families, and the freedoms we have today. Freedom did not come free. We pray we never forget that.

🌦️ Today: Shower Chances Through the Day
A pretty good chance of showers early, then another chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, continuing into tonight.

🌧️ Tuesday: Not Too Bad
Only a 40% chance of showers. Not bad compared to what's been moving through.

⛈️ Wednesday: Showers Likely
Showers are likely as a front pushes through.

🌤️ Thursday Through the Weekend: Beautiful Stretch
We get near 80° Thursday, then temperatures fall into the 70s and stay there right through the weekend. Nights will still be chilly, so not the best pool weather, but it's going to be a beautiful stretch to get outside.

💧 Drought Update
Models are showing a cooler and drier trend ahead. We have picked up three to four inches of rain across the area, which was really needed.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Sunday, May 24, 2026

☁️ Today: Mostly Dry
Cloudy skies with maybe a peek of sun here and there. A stray shower can't be ruled out, but it looks like a largely dry day.

🌦️ Monday: Warm, Humid, and Unsettled
Warm and humid, which could fuel some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Not a washout, but keep an eye on the sky.

🌧️ Midweek: Shower Chances Continue
Unsettled conditions linger into the middle of the week with more showers and storm chances possible.

🌤️ Weekend: Potential Gem, But Watch the Front
A frontal passage could set us up for a really nice weekend with highs in the 70s and clear skies. That's IF the front pushes far enough south. If it stalls, all bets are off. We'll be watching closely.

💧 Drought Update
We've picked up over 3 inches of rain here in the Purcellville area, with other areas seeing varying amounts. Definitely welcome in our ongoing severe drought. It may have addressed roughly a quarter of the deficit, but there's still a long way to go.

🌧️ Today: Rainy and Chilly
Another rainy day, especially as we get deeper into the afternoon. We could see between a quarter and half an inch today. We need this rain! Many have already picked up near an inch or more over the last couple of days. High only near 60°.

🌦️ Saturday: More of the Same
Showers again with highs near 60°. Thunderstorms possible, especially as the day goes on. Still a chilly one.

⛈️ Sunday: A Little Better
Showers likely early, then another chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs climb into the mid 70s though, a little nicer, and rain won't be as widespread.

🌧️ Monday: Wet Again
Showers likely with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Highs near 80°.

Showers remain in the forecast through Wednesday with temps warming up to near 80!

🔥 Today: Another Hot One
Highs in the low to mid 90s with a good chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Some could be strong to severe, with wind being the biggest threat.

🌧️ Thursday: Big Cooldown
That frontal passage knocks temperatures way back, with highs only around 64°. That's a 30-degree drop from today. Showers continue into Friday.

🏖️ Memorial Day Weekend: Unsettled
Saturday looks like widespread rain, with Sunday a bit more showery. More rain likely on Monday.

💧 Drought Relief on the Way
The good news: 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible over the next several days, and that is well needed for the severe drought we're in. The tough news is it falls over the holiday weekend. Hoping the Round Hill Festival and the other local events catch some breaks in the rain. Pools are going to have a hard time opening with cold, rainy, and stormy conditions.
