12/25/2024 – Merry Christmas to you! Chilly and cloudy day ahead. Quick summary
Rain chances increase this weekend and it could rain quite a bit! You may want to check those storm drains and basement drains before the rain hits.

Shower chances persist through New Year's Day. It will also warm to the 50s by the weekend and into early next week!

Watching for a change in the pattern and MAYBE even a wintry threat around the 5th of January, but that is Speculation!!! Things do seem to be trending colder in the long-range.

12/24/2024 – A few showers of sleet and freezing rain could fall for the next hour or so, but things do not look too bad. We will become partly to mostly sunny this afternoon.
Temps will be in the low and mid-40s today through Friday. Sunday through Tuesday, the high will be upper 40s to mid 50s. There is a good chance of rain on Sunday and Monday. Fortunately we could see an inch or more of rain!

The long-range still points to a cooling trend and maybe some wintry weather threats, but we must get closer to get details!

The forecast:
Today: Hi 44 🌦️40% Lo 30 ☁️ – A chance of freezing rain early, transitioning to rain by late morning. Gradually becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon, with light winds. Mostly cloudy tonight with calm conditions.

Christmas Day: Hi 41 ☁️ Lo 29 ☁️ – Mostly cloudy

Thursday: Hi 41 🌤️ Lo 27 🌙 – Partly sunny

Friday: Hi 45 🌤️ Lo 34 ☁️ – Partly sunny

Saturday: Hi 48 🌦️30% Lo 41 🌧️30% – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain in the afternoon, continuing into the evening under cloudy skies.

12/23/2024 – Winter Weather Advisory for tomorrow morning from 5am to 1pm. Some light freezing rain will cause slick roads and tough walking conditions.

The temps will rise to the 40s tomorrow and stay in the 40s all week possibly hitting the 50s this weekend for high temps.

Rain chances will be possible for the weekend, but especially Sunday into Monday, but the confidence in timing is a challenge.

The long range looks unsettled but also unclear. Sometime between the 5th and 10th, we will likely see some mild conditions flip to really cold.

The forecast
Today: Hi 34 ☀️ Lo 25 🌨️ 30% – Sunny during the day, becoming mostly cloudy at night with a chance of freezing rain late.

Tuesday: Hi 44 🌨️60% Lo 29 ☁️ – Light Snow and freezing rain likely early, transitioning to rain and becoming mostly sunny by afternoon; mostly cloudy overnight.

Christmas Day: Hi 41 ☁️ Lo 29 ☁️ – Mostly cloudy throughout the day and night.

12/22/2024 – Cold day ahead, but not as breezy. We should see temps get close to freezing. Tonight we will see lows in the low teens – and maybe a few single digits!
It will still be cold tomorrow. Based on the front that will come through, there may be some light snow/sleet/freezing early Tuesday morning. I will watch it.
Cold, seasonable highs in the low 40s are expected for the rest of the week, but there will be a lot of clouds and maybe some showers as we end the week.

The long range looks a bit above normal before we can see some really cold conditions.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 31 ☀️ Lo 13 🌙 – Sunny and mostly clear with light winds.

Monday: Hi 35 🌤️ Lo 25 ☁️ – Mostly sunny, becoming mostly cloudy overnight with calm winds.

Tuesday: Hi 44 🌨️🌦️20% Lo 30 ☁️ – Partly sunny with a slight chance of snow/sleet/and freezing rain, then mostly cloudy.

Christmas Day: Hi 41 ☁️ Lo 28 ☁️ – Mostly cloudy.

12/21/2024 – Welcome Astronomical Winter with the Solstice! YES, daylight starts increasing from now on! It will be a cold day with some flurries around this morning and maybe a few Christmas showers later. COLD and blustery day! Cold tonight and tomorrow! Coldest night of the season expected tomorrow nights with temps down close to 10 degrees! I bet some see single digits! 🥶🥶🥶
We will have a slow warming trend, but the cold air damming this week is relentless. The original chance of rain/snow Wednesday has disappeared from the models. I do not expect a super sunny week and we will probably see some showers later in the week.

SPECULATION – There is growing support for a colder pattern as we enter January on the models. It may take a few days for the colder air to arrive. There are even hints to the potential of wintry weather! BUT THIS IS ALL SPECULATION!

Today: Hi 34 🌨️20% Lo 19 🌙 – Scattered flurries and isolated snow showers early, becoming partly sunny and breezy with strong wind gusts, then partly cloudy overnight.
