Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Saturday, September 28, 2024

9/27/2024 – It will feel hot today with all the humidity. When you are outside of a hurricane, you usually have nice clear skies! We have it! The Airshow should be great.

The hurricane remnants have now been absorbed into an upper-level low, which will track over us over the next few days. One to two inches of rain is possible.

Expect on-and-off rain from Sunday through Tuesday. Because there is so much moisture in the air, rain could still be locally heavy with local thunderstorms. Localized flooding could be possible.

The weather after that is looking really nice and dry. Temps will trend below normal!

Today: Hi 80 ☀️ Lo 66 🌧️30% – Sunny, with light winds. Increasing clouds with scattered showers later tonight.

Sunday: Hi 75 ⛅🌧️70% Lo 64 ⛈️80% – Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely, especially in the afternoon and night.

Monday: Hi 67 ⛅🌧️80% Lo 62 ⛈️80% – Showers and possible thunderstorms throughout the day and night.

Tuesday: Hi 68 ⛅🌧️60% Lo 60 ☁️ – Showers likely with mostly cloudy skies.

Wednesday: Hi 72 🌤️30% Lo 49 🌙30% – Partly sunny with a chance of showers in the afternoon, becoming mostly clear later.

Thursday: Hi 69 ☀️ Lo 49 🌙 – Sunny and mostly clear.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Friday, September 27, 2024

9/27/2024 – Looks wet and breezy today, and maybe some heavier showers at times. If we get into a heavier shower or storm, it may be really wet, but we do not look like we will see an ongoing rain chance all day. Thunderstorms are more likely this evening. I will watch as some could get interesting if things become unstable, but that does not seem likely for now. 
Tomorrow will dry up in the afternoon, be very warm, and the humidity will make it feel hot. 
Rain will return Sunday through Tuesday and then we will turn dry for a while with temps at or slightly above average. 
The forecast:
Today: Hi 74 ⛈️80% Lo 69 ⛈️80% – Showers with patchy fog in the afternoon and evening, gusty winds, and thunderstorms expected tonight.
Saturday: Hi 81 🌤️20% Lo 65 🌙50% – Isolated showers early, then clearing to become mostly sunny. Scattered showers later in the night.
Sunday: Hi 75 🌦️70% Lo 63 ⛈️80% – Showers likely in the afternoon, with thunderstorms overnight.
Monday: Hi 69 ⛈️80% Lo 62 🌧️80% – Showers throughout the day and night.
Tuesday: Hi 70 🌦️60% Lo 59 🌦️60% – Showers likely in the afternoon, with some rain before 8pm.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Thursday, September 26, 2024

9/26/2024 – We did get quite a bit more rain overnight than I expected. The official forecast has rightfully increased the rain amounts because there is just so much moisture in the atmosphere! We will see scattered showers today and maybe some thunder. 
If we get into these rain bands, there could be heavy localized rain. In general, it does not look too wet today. 
Rain chances will continue on and off through Tuesday, but it looks wetter for sure this weekend. Things appear to clear up by the middle of next week. 
The longer range looks like temps will be a bit above normal but we will also dry out. 
The forecast:
Today: Hi 77 🌧️30% Lo 68 🌧️30% – Scattered showers early, becoming cloudy with light winds and scattered showers after 5am.
Friday: Hi 75 🌧️80% Lo 68 🌧️80% – Showers throughout the day and into the night, with gusty winds.
Saturday: Hi 79 🌥️🌧️40% Lo 65 🌧️60% – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, becoming mostly cloudy with likely showers late.
Sunday: Hi 71 🌧️60% Lo 61 🌧️50% – Showers likely during the day, with a chance of showers continuing into the night.
Monday: Hi 67 🌧️50% Lo 59 🌧️60% – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, and likely showers in the evening.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Wednesday, September 25, 2024

Dreary days with damp conditions continue. The best chance of rain over the next week is today and tonight and again Friday and Friday night. We maintain an easterly wind off the ocean for the next week (and maybe longer) which will aid in fog at night and chances of showers and drizzle daily. We could see some sun starting Thursday. Variable clouds Saturday through Tuesday with chances of showers daily. 
There will be influence from Hurricane Helene, but not direct impacts. It is so wild that there is a strong High in the northeastern Canada/NW Atlantic that is blocking the storm to the west but is also causing easterly winds and moisture off the ocean. 
Total rain over the next week could total an inch or more. 
The forecast:
Today: Hi 72 ⛈️70% Lo 67 🌧️50% – Showers likely with thunderstorms possible after 2pm, areas of fog in the morning. Scattered showers and patchy fog tonight.
Thursday: Hi 78 🌤️🌧️20% Lo 66 🌧️20% – Cloudy with a slight chance of showers during the day and night.
Friday: Hi 75 🌧️50% Lo 67 🌧️60% – Cloudy with a chance of showers during the day, showers likely with possible thunderstorms at night.
Saturday: Hi 75 🌤️🌧️50% Lo 63 🌧️40% – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, mostly cloudy at night with lingering showers.
Sunday: Hi 72 🌧️40% Lo 59 🌧️40% – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers during the day and night.
