Nice dry days up through Christmas Day. By Tuesday, we may see some rain. The pattern change towards more wintry weather, if it shows, will be early January!

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, December 18, 2023

Windy and turning sunny but colder. We have a wind Advisory for winds gusting to 50 mph.

Winds will continue to be strong through tomorrow with cold conditions.

We look seasonal to slightly below on temps through Christmas! As of now, there appear to be no significant weather issues for Christmas.

If the models are correct, we will need to watch after Christmas up into the first week of the New Year for wintry weather. The models are starting to show a much more favorable outlook, but this is so far off it could easily change!

All for now

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Sunday, December 17, 2023

Potentially Flooding Rains and Windy event on the way!
Rain will increase through the day and be mild. Heavy rains will be likely tonight with some strong winds gusting above 40mph.
Showers will end and it will be a windy and chilly day tomorrow with winds gusting up to 45 mph (I do believe we may have a wind advisory!)
Some rain and snow showers are possible tomorrow night with continued windy weather. That wind will continue into Tuesday, with temps only in the 30s. It will feel very cold.
We calm down and temps will be in the 40s the rest of the week.
Christmas Day still looks good. It may be milder as well as I could see highs reaching the 50s.
The long-range models continue to show that the temps will remain above normal, but there are signs that the pattern will become more favorable for wintry weather and maybe as soon as the first of the new year! We shall see!

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Friday, October 27, 2023

Happy Friday! It's a bit more cloudy today than first thought. That will keep us from reaching the record high of 84 today. Sunday is a bit of a challenge! A front will slide in from the north off the ocean and bring clouds. This has been somewhat debatable on the models but is coming to fruition. That will mean cloudy and occasionally damp conditions but not necessarily a lot of rain. That setup and the approaching front could bring showers at times on Monday and Tuesday. I think we could end up dry on Tuesday, but it's definitely chilly for trick-or-treating with some breezes around. Coldest air of the season to follow, with a good chance of an area-wide freeze to end the growing season.

We need rain, and I am not seeing any great amounts from anything forecasted through the next 10 days!
