Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Saturday, December 7, 2024

12/7/2024 – Another cold day but the winds will subside. The winds return tomorrow but they are from the south so we get up into the 50s. Rain Monday and again late Tuesday and Wednesday. WE MAY see a mix of rain and snow Wednesday night. Temps turn cold and blustery again next Thursday. We stay cold Friday but the extended does look warmer up until Christmas time.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 42 🌤️ Lo 30 ☁️ – Partly sunny with light west winds, becoming mostly cloudy tonight.

Sunday: Hi 55 🌤️ Lo 35 🌧️ 20% – Mostly sunny and breezy, with increasing clouds and a slight chance of rain and snow late.

Monday: Hi 48 🌧️100% Lo 40 ☁️ – Rain in the morning, tapering off to mostly cloudy skies at night.

Tuesday: Hi 58 🌦️40% Lo 43 🌧️100% – Partly sunny with a chance of rain during the day, becoming rainy at night.

Wednesday: Hi 49 🌧️80% Lo 26 🌙 – Showers during the day, clearing to partly cloudy skies at night.

Thursday: Hi 35 ☀️ Lo 22 🌙 – Sunny, cold, and windy.

Friday: Hi 39 ☀️ – Sunny and seasonably cold.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Friday, December 6, 2024

12/6/2024 – Another cold day with breezy conditions, but nothing like yesterday. We remain in the low and mid-30s today. Slightly milder tomorrow with less winds and highs in the upper 30s. Milder and breezy conditions Sunday with highs in the low and mid-50s. We will see 60s and rain on Monday, some showers, and around 60 on Tuesday. More rain Wednesday that could end as a rain/snow mix Wednesday Night. We will turn colder and windier next Thursday, but the long range looks like a warmup with above normal temps!

Today: Hi 35 🌤️ Lo 22 🌙 – Mostly sunny with strong northwest winds, becoming mostly clear with lighter west winds overnight.

Saturday: Hi 39 🌤️ Lo 27 ☁️ – Mostly sunny during the day, becoming mostly cloudy with light southwest winds overnight.

Sunday: Hi 55 🌤️ Lo 37 ☁️ – Mostly sunny with breezy southwest winds, becoming mostly cloudy overnight.

Monday: Hi 53 🌧️90% Lo 43 ☁️ – Rain likely throughout the day, tapering to mostly cloudy skies overnight.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Thursday, December 5, 2024

12/5/2024 – Arctic air will pour in today, with some snow showers this morning and then strong winds and dropping temperatures. We have that Wind Advisory up from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The wind chills will be in the teens many times throughout the day.

The wind subsides some tomorrow, but we remain cold.
Less wind and temps back near 40 on Saturday, and then we will see some 50s on Sunday.

Rain and mild conditions next week, with temps hitting the low 60s on Tuesday.
I am watching for a potential wintry weather mix on Thursday next week, but that seems like a long shot. Temps will cool a bit late next week, but the long-range shows a very mild and above-normal temperature stretch with some good chances of rain at times, which is needed for the drought.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 33 🌦️50% Lo 25 🌙 – Scattered rain and snow showers early, becoming mostly cloudy and then sunny. Windy with strong wind gusts up to 50mph.

Friday: Hi 34 🌤️ Lo 22 🌙 – Mostly sunny and breezy early, with clearing skies overnight.

Saturday: Hi 39 ☀️ Lo 25 🌙 – Sunny with light winds and partly cloudy skies at night.

Sunday: Hi 53 ☀️ Lo 37 🌧️50% – Sunny during the day, with increasing clouds and a chance of showers late at night.

Monday: Hi 53 🌦️60% Lo 45 🌧️40% – Showers likely in the morning, with cloudy skies and lingering chances of rain into the night.

Tuesday: Hi 61 🌦️50% Lo 41 🌧️50% – Partly sunny with scattered showers through the day and into the evening.

Wednesday: Hi 50 🌦️30% Lo 41 🌧️50% – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers throughout the day and night.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Wednesday, December 3, 2024

12/4/2024 – It is going to be another cold day with breezy conditions. Highs will approach 40 degrees. Tonight, winds will increase, and we may have some rain and snow showers. Tomorrow morning, we could have rain/snow squalls come through, which could mean brief very heavy snow that could whiten the ground and be accompanied by strong gusty winds. We have a wind advisory up for tomorrow with winds gusting to 50 mph. Cold and breezy conditions will persist through Saturday. Sunday, winds will shift to the south, and we will start to moderate in temperatures. That will mean rain showers Monday and Tuesday (Though late Sunday night we may see some sleet at precipitation onset).

The long-range has turned milder, and we have some chances of rain.

Today: Hi 40 🌤️40% Lo 33 🌧️40% – Mostly sunny with increasing winds in the afternoon; a chance of showers late, becoming mostly cloudy.

Thursday: Hi 35 🌤️ Lo 26 🌙 – Mostly sunny and windy, becoming mostly clear and breezy at night.

Friday: Hi 34 🌤️ Lo 20 🌙 – Mostly sunny with a brisk northwest wind, clearing and cold overnight.

Saturday: Hi 40 🌤️ Lo 25 🌙 – Mostly sunny during the day, with partly cloudy skies at night.

Sunday: Hi 51 ☀️ Lo 36 🌧️30% – Sunny, becoming mostly cloudy overnight with a slight chance of showers late.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Tuesday, December 3, 2024

12/3/2024 – It is Giving Tuesday! As you know, I am a big fan of Tree of Life and would recommend them as an organization to give to!

Another cold and blustery day with winds making it feel like the 20s all day. We will see highs in the upper 30s. Cold tonight. Tomorrow will not be as cold, and a front tomorrow night could bring some rain and snow mixed, which turns to all snow for Thursday morning. I would not expect much, but a dusting is possible. Thursday may bring another wind advisory with strong, cold, blustery winds and some snow showers. It will remain cold on Friday. We will moderate some this weekend, and that will probably mean that we see rain on Monday and Monday night, but I would not be surprised if that rain starts with a mix of sleet.

We then look seasonal next week, with maybe more chances of rain.

Today: Hi 39 ☀️ Lo 21 🌙 – Sunny and breezy during the day, becoming clear and calm at night.

Wednesday: Hi 41 🌤️ Lo 30 🌨️50% – Mostly sunny and breezy, turning mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers overnight.

Thursday: Hi 37 🌨️30% Lo 25 🌙 – A chance of snow showers early, becoming mostly sunny and windy. Winds could gust to 50 mph.

Friday: Hi 36 🌤️ Lo 20 🌙 – Mostly sunny and clear.

Saturday: Hi 42 🌤️ Lo 26 🌙 – Mostly sunny during the day, with partly cloudy skies overnight.
