Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Thursday, December 12, 2024

12/12/2024 – Cold and windy day, but not terrible. Cold conditions last through Saturday. We may see some showers Sunday, but it does not look very wet.. would not be surprised to see some sleet in the onset. Milder Monday and then some rain Tuesday. We look kind of mild mid week and then a front and colder weather by the following weekend. Models are pointing to a bit cold Christmas week.. and yes, MAYBE something to watch for precipitation, but nothing is definite or clear!

Today: Hi 39 ☀️ Lo 26 🌙 – Sunny with gusty west winds, becoming mostly clear and calm by evening.

Friday: Hi 38 🌤️ Lo 26 🌙 – Partly sunny with light winds, becoming partly cloudy at night.

Saturday: Hi 37 🌤️ Lo 28 ☁️ – Mostly sunny with light southeast winds, turning mostly cloudy overnight.

Sunday: Hi 42 ☁️🌧️50% Lo 36 🌧️80% – Cloudy with rain chances late. This may stary as some brief sleet

Monday: Hi 50 🌧️60% Lo 44 🌧️70% – Rain is possible, but this may come late

Tuesday: Hi 55 🌧️60% Lo 35 🌙 – Partly sunny with rain likely, becoming partly cloudy and cooler at night.

Wednesday: Hi 47 ☀️ Lo 27🌙 – Mostly sunny

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Wednesday, December 11, 2024

12/11/1024 – It's raining, with increasing winds. Now, temperatures will drop. I do not think the cold will catch the precipitation. The next few days will be windy and cold. There may be more rain on Sunday. Milder conditions next week and some more chances of rain. Christmas week could be below normal and yes, I am watching for storminess, but I am not thinking we see snow at this point. A longer range seems like colder air will come in for January.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 39 🌧️90% Lo 30 🌙 – Rain likely early, tapering off by late afternoon, becoming cloudy and breezy. Gradual clearing overnight with blustery winds.

Thursday: Hi 38 ☀️ Lo 25 🌙 – Sunny skies with gusty winds easing in the evening to partly cloudy and calm overnight.

Friday: Hi 40 🌤️ Lo 25 🌙 – Mostly sunny and calm through the day, staying mostly clear overnight.

Saturday: Hi 42 🌤️ Lo 33 🌧️50% – Partly sunny during the day, with increasing clouds and a chance of rain overnight.

Sunday: Hi 46 🌧️80% Lo 39 🌧️60% – Rain throughout the day, tapering to showers overnight under mostly cloudy skies.

Monday: Hi 52 🌧️40% Lo 42 🌧️40% – Partly sunny with a chance of rain, staying mostly cloudy overnight with continued rain chances.

Tuesday: Hi 55 🌧️30% Lo 42 🌙 – Mostly sunny with a slight chance of rain during the day, clearing into the evening.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Tuesday, December 10, 2024

12/10/2024 – WILD 24 hours shaping up! Yes, it has been foggy! Also, this has trapped a lot of smoke from anyone burning fires close to the ground. Rain will pick up later this evening. Temperatures will then rise late as the warm front moves through. Temps will be close to 60 degrees tomorrow morning, with locally heavy rain dropping, adding up to 1 to 3 inches, though most will see around 2 inches.

LATE TOMORROW rain may change to a period of wet snow, especially in western Loudoun.
Tomorrow night will be windy and much colder. I would not be surprised to see a wind advisory.

Cold Thursday and Friday. Saturday, we try to get to the low 40s.

SUNDAY COULD be very rainy again. Models are struggling a bit with the location of heavier rain. I would not be surprised to see some sleet as the precipitation starts.

Next week looks above normal as we start the week in the 50s.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 53 🌧️30% Lo 53 🌧️100% – Cloudy with a chance of showers with some fog early. Breezy at times late.

Wednesday: Hi 59 🌧️100% Lo 29 ❄️🌘20% – Rain with patchy fog, breezy and turning colder through the day with rain possibly mixing with and changing to snow late. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph with some higher gusts.

Thursday: Hi 36 ☀️ Lo 22 🌙 – Sunny and breezy.

Friday: Hi 38 🌤️ Lo 24 🌙 – Mostly sunny

Saturday: Hi 41 🌥️ Lo 33 🌧️50% – Partly sunny, becoming cloudy at night with a chance of rain (maybe starting with some sleet).

Sunday: Hi 45 🌦️50% Lo 38 🌧️30% – Mostly cloudy with occasional rain possible

Monday: Hi 50 🌥️ Lo 38 ☁️ – Partly sunny, transitioning to mostly cloudy skies in the evening.

Tuesday: Hi 54 🌤️ Lo 39🌙 – Mostly sunny

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, December 9, 2024

12/9/2024 – Rain is on our doorstep this morning! It should move through and be over by early afternoon. It will be a pretty mild day.
More substantial rain will begin tomorrow afternoon and continue through Wednesday late. There is a small chance that it could briefly mix with snow and eventually change to snow, but regardless, very windy and cold air will follow Wednesday night through Thursday night—maybe even another wind advisory.

Cold conditions will continue on Friday and Saturday. A bit milder on Sunday with a chance of a few showers.

Next week looks pretty normal, with temperatures into the low and middle 40s. However, it is far off, so we will have to see how things pan out.

Today: Hi 53 🌧️100% Lo 41 🌙 – Rain mainly before 1pm, then becoming partly cloudy with light winds.

Tuesday: Hi 59 🌥️🌧️40% Lo 52 🌧️100% – Mostly cloudy with a chance of afternoon rain, becoming rainy overnight.

Wednesday: Hi 58 🌧️100% Lo 27 🌙🌧️🌨️20% – Rain throughout the day with gusty winds, becoming partly cloudy and breezy by night with a slight chance of rain or snow.

Thursday: Hi 34 ☀️ Lo 19 🌙 – Sunny, windy, and cold.

Friday: Hi 34 ☀️ Lo 23 🌙 – Sunny skies and cold.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Sunday, December 8, 2024

12/8/2024- It will be a milder day but pretty windy. Highs will be in the upper 50s with some breezy southwesterly winds. Tonight, late, we may see some showers, but most of the rain we see will come tomorrow morning and be somewhat light.
Mild conditions will continue, and then more rain will fall later on Tuesday and into Wednesday. This will be the most rain we have had in a while, and it is really welcome! The forecast shows up to 2 inches are possible! 🙂

We will turn colder Wednesday night, and there is a chance we could see some brief snow. It will be cold and windy Thursday and stay colder through Saturday.

The long range still looks like it will turn warmer for a period before Christmas, but there are signs it may not be that warm and that we could cool down right after Christmas week. We shall see. That is so far off!

Today: Hi 57 🌤️ Lo 36 🌧️30% – Mostly sunny with gusty west winds, becoming cloudy overnight with a chance of rain late.

Tuesday: Hi 57 🌧️60% Lo 50 🌧️100% – Mostly cloudy with rain likely in the afternoon, transitioning to steady rain overnight.

Wednesday: Hi 51 🌧️80% Lo 26 🌙 – Rain throughout the day, and I am watching for the potential of brief snow at the end late in the day or evening. Nothing significant.

Thursday: Hi 34 ☀️ Lo 20 🌙 – Sunny, breezy, and colder.

Friday: Hi 34 ☀️ Lo 21 🌙 – Sunny and cold weather continuing,
