Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Monday, September 30, 2024

9/30/2024 – Today will be pretty dismal with showers, sprinkles, and some fog. The heavier rain did not make it up in the area as initially expected, which means overall rain amounts through tomorrow night have come down. Unfortunately, areas in Southwest Virginia continue seeing flooding conditions.

This one looks really nice! You could head to the Waterford Fair or the many fall activities kicking off! The weather looks fabulous! The one catch, it will be quite chilly at night! A pumpkin spice and everything nice kind of weekend shaking up! I will list some favorites in upcoming posts! The Leesburg Airshow is always my kickoff to a fun-filled fall of festivities! 🎃
The chances of rain will end, for the most part, tomorrow evening. A few showers could occur on Wednesday, and then we will enter another dry period. 
Next week's system does not look very likely as it will get blocked by a significant high pressure over us. This means beautiful days, but if you can believe it, we must be mindful that parts of the region will remain in a drought despite the rain. 
The forecast:
Today: Hi 66 🌧️80% Lo 59 🌧️80% – Showers with patchy fog throughout the day and night. Expect east winds around 8 mph, with rain continuing into the evening. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
Tuesday: Hi 65 🌧️60% Lo 59 🌧️30% – Showers are likely, especially in the morning, with patchy fog. It will be mostly cloudy throughout the day, with showers tapering off at night, though a chance of rain returns after 2 a.m.
Wednesday: Hi 73 🌥️30% Lo 55 🌙 – Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of morning showers. Skies clearing overnight.
Thursday: Hi 75 ☀️ Lo 57 🌙 – Sunny and mostly clear.
Friday: Hi 77 🌤️ Lo 57 🌙 – Mostly sunny with partly cloudy skies in the evening.
Saturday: Hi 72 ☀️ Lo 49 🌙 – Sunny and mostly clear.
Sunday: Hi 69 ☀️ Lo 47 – Sunny and clear skies.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Sunday, September 29, 2024

9/29/2024 – After a beautiful but a bit hot day, we are back to socked in clouds and damp conditions. The return of rain is a bit slower than first thought, so the most significant rain will come tonight into tomorrow.

Showers should clear late on Tuesday, and then we will be a bit warmer than I had thought and dry.

Locally heavy rain could come from any thunderstorms so localized flooding could be an issue. The NOAA NWS Weather Prediction Center has far western areas in slight risk for flash flooding.

So wet for a few more days and then we turn warmer and drier. That long range rain storm could still occur after this coming week, but there is a lot of uncertainty that far out!.

The forecast:
Today: Hi 72 🌧️60% Lo 61 🌧️80% – Cloudy with likely showers, patchy fog, and light northeast winds. Showers continue tonight with patchy fog.

Monday: Hi 67 🌧️80% Lo 60 🌧️80% – Showers throughout the day, patchy fog. Possible thunderstorms after 2am.

Tuesday: Hi 65 🌧️60% Lo 58 🌧️20% – Cloudy with likely morning showers, tapering off by evening.

Wednesday: Hi 72 🌤️ Lo 54 🌙 – Partly sunny during the day, becoming partly cloudy overnight.

Thursday: Hi 74 ☀️ Lo 55 🌙 – Sunny skies and mostly clear at night.

Friday: Hi 78 ☀️ Lo 57 🌙 – Sunny and partly cloudy overnight.

Saturday: Hi 74 ☀️ Lo 55 🌙 – Sunny and clear skies throughout the day.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Saturday, September 28, 2024

9/27/2024 – It will feel hot today with all the humidity. When you are outside of a hurricane, you usually have nice clear skies! We have it! The Airshow should be great.

The hurricane remnants have now been absorbed into an upper-level low, which will track over us over the next few days. One to two inches of rain is possible.

Expect on-and-off rain from Sunday through Tuesday. Because there is so much moisture in the air, rain could still be locally heavy with local thunderstorms. Localized flooding could be possible.

The weather after that is looking really nice and dry. Temps will trend below normal!

Today: Hi 80 ☀️ Lo 66 🌧️30% – Sunny, with light winds. Increasing clouds with scattered showers later tonight.

Sunday: Hi 75 ⛅🌧️70% Lo 64 ⛈️80% – Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely, especially in the afternoon and night.

Monday: Hi 67 ⛅🌧️80% Lo 62 ⛈️80% – Showers and possible thunderstorms throughout the day and night.

Loudoun County Weather Outlook for Friday, September 27, 2024

9/27/2024 – Looks wet and breezy today, and maybe some heavier showers at times. If we get into a heavier shower or storm, it may be really wet, but we do not look like we will see an ongoing rain chance all day. Thunderstorms are more likely this evening. I will watch as some could get interesting if things become unstable, but that does not seem likely for now. 
Tomorrow will dry up in the afternoon, be very warm, and the humidity will make it feel hot. 
Rain will return Sunday through Tuesday and then we will turn dry for a while with temps at or slightly above average. 
The forecast:
Today: Hi 74 ⛈️80% Lo 69 ⛈️80% – Showers with patchy fog in the afternoon and evening, gusty winds, and thunderstorms expected tonight.
Saturday: Hi 81 🌤️20% Lo 65 🌙50% – Isolated showers early, then clearing to become mostly sunny. Scattered showers later in the night.
Sunday: Hi 75 🌦️70% Lo 63 ⛈️80% – Showers likely in the afternoon, with thunderstorms overnight.
Monday: Hi 69 ⛈️80% Lo 62 🌧️80% – Showers throughout the day and night.
